Field Archaeologists work on excavations – they dig, record and monitor evidence for the past. But not all archaeologists dig holes. There are many different areas of archaeology in which people work and roughly 5000 people work as archaeologists in the UK today. These features look like they were designed to hold water. They would have been in the basements of the Georgian houses along Prescot Street. Suggestions gratefully received.
